Although born and bred in New York City, some say that Sweet Megg is the bastard child of 1920’s New Orleans, 1930’s Paris, 1940s New York, and 1950s Nashville. Her music truly transcends categories of time and place. In her voice, you will hear the colors of a vast variety of influences, ranging from Billie Holliday, to Patsy Cline to Edith Piaf to Bessie Smith. Her music is steeped in many traditional American styles but also is informed by the times we live in today.
