Sweet Megg Brings You New Music for your Holiday Playlist - Vents Magazine

Tis’ the season for holiday music!  NYC Americana/Jazz artist Sweet Megg and her band of merry music makers deliver good cheer with two classic Christmas songs that bring us back to the 1950s — “Santa Baby” (released by Eartha Kitt in 1953) and “Blue Christmas” (released by Elvis Presley in 1957).  Both songs are out now on Turtle Bay Records.

Sweet Megg (aka Meaghan Farrell) lends her unique blend of Americana and Jazz in both cover songs. She follows a long list of artists who have covered these Holiday classics over the decades. Composed by Philip Springer with lyrics written by Joan Javits, “Santa Baby” didn’t gain its widespread popularity until it was later covered by Madonna in 1987, followed by several other artists, including Kylie Minogue, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson.
